From the internal work carried out to date on the environmental evaluation of its main products, ORMAZABAL has started to develop a complete Life Cycle Analysis of one of its most innovative pieces of equipment, the ORGANIC type 630 kVA/20 kV distribution transformer.

One of the main characteristics of this product is based on the use, as liquid dielectric, of a biodegradable natural ester obtained from vegetable oils and with a formula that does not include anti-oxidant additives. Its excellent anti-oxidant capacity is based in its special composition and in a specific refining process that allows it to maintain natural anti-oxidants.

The project will follow the guidelines of "PSR 2000:6; Liquid- or gas-filled and dry type transformers within the range of < 1000 MVA" and complies with the requirements for Environmental Product Declarations, EPD (MSR 1999:2) - an application of standard ISO TR14025, published on 27 March 2000 by the Swedish Ministry of the Environment Management Council, internationally known as the environmental comparison between products standard.
