Ecodesign and Eco-Innovation under the Framework of Green Economy” Seminar

31 January 2013 — Barcelona

The Basque Ecodesign Center took part in the Seminar "Ecodesign and eco- innovation within the framework of the green economy" which was held in Barcelona on 31 January 2013, organised by Sostenipra and the ICTA group of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, within the framework of the ECOTECH SUDOE European project.

Jose María Fernández, technical head of the Basque Ecodesign Center, took part in the event together with Eric Pueyo of the Generalitat de Catalunya and Cormac Leggett of ENISA (Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism).

The aim of the conference was to present three state-of-the-art initiatives in Ecodesign in Spain, such as the Catalan ecodesign program ecodiscat 2012-2015, the participation Credits for eco-innovative business projects and the Basque Ecodesign Center itself.

“Ecodesign and Eco-innovation Opportunities in Basque Industry” Conference

6 March 2013 — Arrasate—Mondragón

On 6 March 2013, the Basque Ecodesign Center and CIE Automotive itself were invited to participate in the conference "Ecodesign and Eco-innovation Opportunities in Basque Industry. Practical Cases from the Automotive Sector" organised by Mondragon University.

The Basque Ecodesign Center presented the current lines of public-private collaboration work in this area and its current status. For CIE Automotive, Christian Uriarte presented the project developed last year within the framework of the Basque Ecodesign Center about ecological improvement of the process of forge pressing.

The act took place within the framework of activities of Diseinu Berrikuntza Zentroa (DBF), a centre that brings together all the academic, research and transfer activities of the ?eld of industrial design of Mondragon Unibertsitatea (MU) and which centres its work on two lines of investigation that are key for businesses: a relationship between Sustainability and Eco-innovation and devoted to the Design of Experiences, Interaction and Inclusive Design.

“Komunikaldiak 2013” Conference about the role of Ideas Laboratories

20 March 2013 — Arrasate—Mondragón

Since 2006, the Department of Communication of Mondragon Unibertsitatea organises an annual day-long conference called Komunikaldiak in the Faculty of Humanities and Sciences of Education, in the Aretxabaleta campus (Gipuzkoa), around a single theme, related to communication.

In the 2013 edition, the conference centred around the presentation of the di?erent initiatives of idea laboratories existing in the Autonomous Region of the Basque Country. Before the practical cases a little time was taken to get to know the approach taken by this type of initiative at a global level.

The Basque Ecodesign Center presented the activities they are developing in their Ideas Laboratory about this matter and participated in a round table to debate the innovative potential of this kind o?nitiatives. Also participating in the meeting were other Ideas Laboratories from Euskadi, such as the HUHEZI-Goiena Komunikazio Taldea, Dinamik Ideas and H-Enea Living Lab Ideas Laboratories.

3rd LOGISTIKA conference on the cluster of mobility and logistics

4 July 2013 — Pasaia

Last 4 July, the 3rd Euskadi Logistics Conference was held, organised by the Cluster of Mobility and Logistics of Euskadi, with the collaboration of the Pasaia Port Authority and the logistics company Transporeon.The aim of the Euskadi Logistics Conferences is to spread awareness and knowledge of the new management models and technologies applied to the supply chain and logistics as a tool to improve competitiveness.

The Basque Ecodesign Center was invited to participate by showing the new trends existing in relation to the supply chain and the possibilities o?ered by public-private sector collaboration.

“Excellent Europe. Innovation and Research. Share for Success” conference

19 September 2013 — Madrid

A technical work conference took place last September 19th in the Headquarters of the European mmission in Madrid under the banner "Excellent Europe. Innovation and search". The aim of the conference, organised by the Europe Association as hole, was to present good innovation and research practice at European el. mong the good practices selected and presented at the conference was that the Basque Ecodesign Center, which was singled out as one of the best tiatives of collaboration between the public and private sectors in existence Spain. Likewise, Iberdrola also participated, showing the work they carry out ernally in the ?eld of Innovation and Environment. e conference had the support of the Secretary of State for the European ion Ministry of Foreign A?airs and Cooperation, as ll as the European Commission and the Finnish bassy in Madrid.

Business conference - Ecodesign: Application guides, European Directive and project financing

17 September 2013 — Vitoria-Gasteiz

Held last September 17 in Vitoria-Gasteiz, and organised by the Department of Economic Promotion of the City Hall of Vitoria-Gasteiz, this conference was for professionals from the industrial and construction sectors.

In it, ecodesign was presented as a tool for the prevention of environmental impacts, by means of which businesses obtain the development of products which are environmentally friendly.

Conference on Sustainability in the Habitat, Office, Wood and Contract sector

22 November 2013 — Bilbao

Organised by the Cluster of Habitat and the Contract of the Basque ntry, Habic and with the support of the Department for the ronment and Territorial Policy of the Basque Government, by ans of its public company Ihobe, the ?rst Meeting of Environment Sustainability in the sector was held last November 22.

Workstudio “Collaboration for Sustasinable Lifestyles through Business and social innovations”

4 and 5 November 2013 - Berlin (Germany)

On 4 and 5 November 2013, a multi-agent conference at European level took place in Berlin to analyse and discuss together new collaboration ways to establish sustainable life styles through social innovation in business.

Organised by the German Government Ministry of Development and Economic Cooperation, together with the European Agency of the Environment and the Production and Sustainable Consumption Centre, the Basque Ecodesign Center, through the activity framework that it represents and its public-private collaboration model, was invited to take part in the conference.
